Restaurant in Umbria

My favorite restaurant in Umbria - Bar Ristorante Da Giovannino

There is one family restaurant in Umbria where you are just fine. Here I want to sing odes to Italian Umbrian cuisine, enjoy life with friends. Not everyone was given to get here, but if you ever find yourself here, I will be sincerely glad for you.

Bar ristorante da giovannino - restaurant by the road 10 kilometers from Assisi. This, now no longer a secret, place was opened for us by the owner of the villa Relais Parco Subasio Christian, about whom we wrote.

Here is a classic Italian story: mom cooks in the kitchen, children work as waiters, and dad writes bills at the bar. Accounts, looking ahead, I will say penny prices.

The restaurant's interior is quite ascetic, but that's not the point.

Before studying the menu, we will order a liter of homemade wine for 5 euros. Friends, 5 euros - do you understand? Even in the cheapest Roman Carlo Menta you will pay 8 euros.

Now let's start exploring the menu.

Homemade pastes prevail, I advise you to just try everything in order every day: Strangozzi, Spaghetti, Ravioli. You have already paid attention to the price of dishes.

The second course, of course, is meat.

And now let's move on to realities and specifics. Company antipasti, take it for 2-4 people to warm up - you will go crazy with smells and taste. Should I describe every ingredient if the Internet does not transmit smells? You can only fantasize.

Bread, give me more of this incredible bread.

Another liter of homemade wine to make it more fun. At one of the dinners, I asked to bring a few bottles of the best bottled wine, after specifying that nothing should be brought for 100 or more euros. To which a soothing response was received by the waitress that they already have no wine more than 15 euros per bottle.

In fact, you can choose any kind of pasta and “sauce” filling. We tried everything and were delighted.

But what impressed me most was the lamb steak. All the meat that I tried before that day turned out to be different. I admit, I did not even imagine what could be SO delicious!

Pinot Grigio - dry white wine from Italy

The fact of the birth of dry white wine Pinot Grigio (Pinot Grigio) is amazing. The strange variety did not have a green skin, like other white varieties.

Today, in the era of the triumph of bars and nightclubs, liquors are extremely popular. Not only for the good taste, but also due to the fact that they are used to prepare a wide variety of cocktails. A favorite among the Italian sweet alcohol can rightly be called Aperol. This is an aperitif with a bitter taste and, in combination, the main ingredient in the Spritz cocktail.

Sambuca - famous Italian liquor

Anyone who has ever been to a cafe or bar at least once in his life probably knows about Sambuca. This is the famous Italian liquor, infused with anise, which gives the drink a strong aroma. She has no equal among alcohol in the number of tasting methods. The picture is overshadowed only by the fact that due to the wide popularity of sambuca, some dishonest manufacturers sell, at best, liquors based on it.
