You can get to Venice by tram

“It will now be possible to get to one of the most romantic cities in Italy by tram ...” - the authorities of the city proudly declare, where the first experimental trip of this type of transport was carried out last night.

According to the local Gazettino news agency, new tram lines will connect the center of the Mestre district and Venice in the upcoming 2014. Residents and guests of Italy will be able to quickly get to Venice, having arrived at Piazzale Roma, the so-called "automobile" city gates on the water.

“This is the first test trip - an important event for all citizens,” said the mayor of Venice, Giorgio Orsoni. “Finally, the whole city will be able to take advantage of fast and modern means of transportation. Tram lines will be reconstructed, more than a thousand residents of the city can already use this type of transport. ”

The mayor of Venice also promised that soon all the inhabitants of Venice, including the mainland, will be able to appreciate the new convenient way to travel.

Venice, which stands on more than a hundred small islands surrounded by numerous canals, attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists from year to year, who very often face various kinds of travel problems. Most of the foreigners seeking to get to Venice, choose the following route: from their country they get to Rome, and only then - to their destination.

How to get to Venice

You can get to Venice by plane, train, bus or by car.

By plane

To get to the city on water from the capital of Italy is the easiest and fastest way possible by plane. Despite the fact that Venice does not have its own airport, many fly to neighboring cities, for example, to Treviso or Marco Polo.

As a rule, getting to Treviso by plane is a bit cheaper than to other cities nearby Venice - many airlines offer low-cost flights from Wizz Air and Ryanair. Often such tickets cost 15 euros. Flight schedule you can see here:

Getting from Treviso to the city by water will not be difficult: directly from the airport there are direct bus services from AVTO, which deliver tourists to Piazzale Roma in Venice. One way ticket will cost you 5 euros, two - 9 euros.

The closest to the city of romantics is Marco Polo Airport, which is considered more expensive and comfortable than Treviso. It accepts liners of well-known international companies that organize direct flights to Venice from the capitals of neighboring states. For example, the Italian airline Alitalia offers a quick flight to Marco Polo for about 130 euros. You can see the flight schedule on the official website of the airport www.veniceairport.it, and find the cheapest flight option on aviasales.ru

By bus or boat

From Marco Polo Airport, you can get to Venice both by bus of the same AVTO company for 3 euros one way (every 15 minutes) and by Alilaguna passenger boat (6 euros every half hour). Many tourists choose the last option: this is a great way to quickly get acquainted with the sights of the city on the islands and enjoy the magnificent scenery.

You can see bus timetables and current ticket prices on the websites www.atvo.it and www.actv.it.

By train

In addition to the plane, Venice can also be reached by other means of transport, for example, by the Italotreno or Trenitalia train. However, such a trip, as a rule, is by no means cheap, unless you buy a ticket in advance. In peak season prices reach 80 euros. However, this type of transport has its advantages. So, you can get a lot of pleasure from the incredibly beautiful Italy and relax before many hours of sightseeing in Venice: local trains are very comfortable.
